Day 7 - District V.
If you had a long day yesterday, you may want to take it easy this morning; we have another walking tour this afternoon! If you want to do it all, here's a suggestion for your morning.
These places are not far from the Market Hall, and you would probably have time for both:
- Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library A spectacular library housed in a restored 19th-century palace. Entry costs about $8.
- Hungarian National Museum Mainly history and archaeology, it has a variety of exhibitions, permanent and temporary. Entry costs around $15.
Take Tram 47 or 49 from Deák Ferenc tér to Kálvin tér. The library is a 5-minute walk around the corner from the museum and will probably be a fairly quick visit; you can decide which to see first.
For the afternoon, we'll take a walking tour of the central area on the Pest side of the river. This is my favourite part of the city, but a guide will be able to give you more thorough information than I can! The tour will include a visit to Liberty Square, a walk along the Danube promenade, and entrance to St Stephen's Basilica.
